Food, water and sanitation, and energy are the “resource nexus” at the core of sustainable development and the overarching goal of poverty eradication. This session explores how to achieve equitable access to food, water and sanitation, and sustainable energy, and address the growing rural-urban divide.

This Roundtable discusses how human rights standards and mechanisms can help underpin the meaningful participation of all people in the national implementation of the SDGs, and in efforts to hold development actors accountable to these Goals. It also discusses strategies to ensure full transparency and public accountability over the design of national indicators to monitor progress.

This Roundtable explores how to aim for the complete eradication of poverty, including the key elements necessary to irreversibly end poverty, particularly for the most marginalized and vulnerable. The conversation focuses on how the end of poverty can be achieved by promoting human rights and respecting planetary boundaries.
