Joint special meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee and the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee with Member States, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and other relevant international and regional organizations.
The purpose of the proposed joint special meeting would be to build on the outcomes of the above-mentioned December 2015 meeting and April 2015 open briefing of the Council and to examine national practices and regional initiatives to implement relevant regional and international instruments, including the related resolutions of the Council. The proposed joint special meeting would also enable the two Committees, Member States, and relevant international and regional organizations to continue their discussion of terrorism-financing trends and to share practices and effective tools to deprive terrorists of financial resources.

This side event will focus on raising awareness and understanding of a number of effective, practical tools for cooperation to counter terrorism. Member States, as well as regional and international organizations will have the opportunity to discuss ways in which to make better use of those tools, or to develop similar tools without weakening existing ones. Enduring risks and challenges in the field of international cooperation to counter terrorism, and how those can be overcome, will also be discussed.

        02:30 PM - 05:00 PM        (TCC) 2016 Global Humanitarian Policy Forum - Meeting needs and reducing suffering: Humanitarian action from (GA) Resolution 46/182 to the present.
25 years ago the UN General Assembly adopted resolution 46/182, which created the humanitarian system. The forum will provide an opportunity for high-level reflection on what has been enabled through 46/182 and how we prepare for the future.
The Forum, organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) will include two high-level panels.
1) One Humanity: Shared Responsibility - This high-level event will discuss progress made since the adoption of the resolution in 1991, and the outstanding challenges identified at the World Humanitarian Summit.
2) Changing lives – working differently to end need - This high-level panel will look at some of the follow-up actions from the World Humanitarian Summit. In particular it will focus on how to work together towards collective outcomes as the way to transcend humanitarian-development divides in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mustafa, a thirteen-year old Syrian refugee boy interviewed a few days after his dangerous voyage across the Mediterranean to seek refuge in Greece will be one of the speakers at UNICEF's 70th Anniversary Special Event. Several other inspiring individuals will join Mustafa to share their stories of desperation, perseverance and hope.
They will be joined by top-tier UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, the President of the General Assembly, UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake and many special guests and performers.
