10:00 AM - 01:00 PM        (CR.8) Special Event of the South-South Cooperation Global Thinkers Initiative.
Workshop and MOU Signing on Legal Environment for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSC &TrC).
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), have supported the establishment of the South-South Cooperation Global Thinkers Initiative, a Global Coalition of Think Tank Networks for SSC (GCTTN), to bring forward voices and knowledge from various networks of think tanks around the world, involving over 100 think tanks to date. This global coalition will facilitate their joint efforts to  inform the global policy dialogues and agenda setting on SSC for the SDGs, including the upcoming the BAPA+40 process.
The South-South Cooperation Global Thinkers Initiative will focus on ten priority issue about SSC, including the ones relating to conceptual frameworks,  policy environment, management challenges, as well as  on the roles and impact of SSC in boosting various pillars of sustainable development. The South-South Cooperation Global Thinkers Initiative has already formalized partnerships with the Global Research Consortium on Economic Structural Transformation (GReCEST) to promote research on economic structural transformation and SSC.  During this event the South-South Cooperation Global Thinkers Initiative will launch its second pilar on Legal Environment for South-South Cooperation (SSC) through the signing of a partnership agreement between UNDP and Beijing Yingke Law Firm.
