The event will launch two studies: 1)  World Humanitarian Data and Trends 2015 and 2)        Leaving no one behind: humanitarian effectiveness in the age of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Objectives of launch event:
- To present the latest trends and their implications from World Humanitarian Data and Trends 2015;
- To link these trends to the five shifts from Leaving no one Behind and show how evidence can support programming can take shape “in the real world,”, moving the discussion from the world as it is today, to the changes necessary to build an accountability framework.

2016 represents a landmark year for African youth as it marks the 10th anniversary of the African Youth Charter. This comprehensive strategic framework was adopted in 2006 by African Union Heads of States and Government with the aim of achieving youth empowerment and development at continental, regional and national levels.
The Regional Breakout Session on Sub-Saharan Africa aims to provide an opportunity for the world’s youth, particularly African youth and those of the diaspora, to engage in an open and candid discussion on the challenges facing African youth, as well as the role of African youth in driving the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
