The ongoing discussions of the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals and the 20th Anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action recognize that there is a significant data gap in women’s leadership role in public life. Data is emerging on overall gender issues, yet a gender data revolution is urgently needed to bridge the knowledge gap on women’s participation and leadership in public governance.
Event on Revolutionizing Data on Women’s Leadership in the Public Sector organized by the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the United Nations Development Programme.
Building on the recommendations of UNDP’s Global Report on Gender Equality in Public Administration (GEPA), the event will serve as a call to action to expand and open up data on the status of women in public life.

Having had the benefit of commentaries from Speakers and Members of Parliament from different regions of the world, participants would have the opportunity to speak about the status of the ratification of the Kampala Amendment in their respective countries as well as to raise any questions that they might have.
