03:00 PM        (ECOSOC) Countering Incitement to Commit Terrorist Acts Motivated by Extremism and Intolerance: the Kingdom of Morocco’s Approach and Experiences of other African States.
The briefing will provide an opportunity to learn about and discuss the approach taken by one Member State to comply with its obligations under resolution 1624 (2005) to counter incitement to commit terrorist acts motivated by extremism and intolerance. Member States that have benefitted from Morocco’s strategy by receiving technical assistance and sharing its good practices will also be invited to share their own national initiatives in countering terrorist incitement by preventing the abuse of religion by terrorists and their supporters. I have attached the concept note for your convenience.

06:00 PM        Security Council Media Stakeout: Following the UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) briefing on "Countering Incitement to Commit Terrorist Acts Motivated by Extremism and Intolerance: the Kingdom of Morocco's Approach and Experiences of other African States".
Speakers will be: H.E. Nasser Bourita, Secretary-General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom or Morocco; and H.E. Ahmed Toufik, Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco;  Chair of the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee, H.E. Ambassador Raimonda Murmokaité; and Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate, Assistant Secretary-General Jean-Paul Laborde.
