This initiative builds on recent commitments and measures taken by Government forces to ensure that children are not recruited or used by parties to conflict in any capacity. This campaign will be a joint effort led by Special Representative and UNICEF in collaboration with other UN partners. Building on best practices by Governments, UN and international partners, the objective of this campaign is to mobilize political attention and further support, including through technical assistance, Governments who are taking measures to professionalize their security forces, ensuring that they become and remain ‘child free’. 03:00 PM - 06:00 PM (ECOSOC) General Assembly: High-level thematic debate on "Contributions of women, the young and civil society to the post-2015 development agenda". http://www.un.org/en/ga/president/68/settingthestage/2wycs.shtml |
